We’re now in Edinburgh – a slightly slower journey than planned because our Thameslink train was delayed {again…) and we missed the faster service. Still, a good journey, and it was nice to travel on the East Coast Main Line again after so many years. 

It was great to see the Northumberland coast, Lindisfarne and Berwick-upon-Tweed from a different view point. 

Edinburgh is its usual self; we wandered past the new Scottish Parliament building

and headed up the hill behind towards Arthur’s Seat.

 But rain was on it’s way (and the path was steep) so we headed back up the Royal Mile and found a pub instead.
