Tyson – Freedom at Last

It was a lovely morning at High Elms, and not too many dogs around, so I decided it was time to risk Tyson off the lead. I had no (well, not many) qualms about him running off, but his behaviour with other dogs hasn’t exactly been exemplary…

With his first taste of freedom, every nook and cranny had to be investigated, and I think he ran 500 yards for each 100 yards I walked. Things settled down after a while, though he did lose track of me a couple of times in his excitement. It was almost as if 6 years of pent up energy had to be dissipated immediately!

He did come back to me OK, so I was able to get him back on the lead before we met another dog.

A nice, tired dog now. I wonder how long it will last?
