Having driven to York yesterday to bring Lucy her belongings, we are spending today doing some shopping while the car is here, and a spot of gardening.
She now has a compost bin. We have agreed to encourage each other over the next few months…

We got the Bure Valley Railway to Wroxham, then a boat trip on the Broads. A bit chilly, but enjoyable nonetheless.
There was a yacht race in progress.
Today I have had time to take a photo of Hautbois House. Most of us went to Wroxham Barns, basically a retail opportunity, but some nice things.
After a slow but otherwise uneventful journey, we arrived at Hautbois House in time for introductions and supper. After some cheese and wine, we have settled down to a craft session.
Much happy chat and laughter.

Mooched around York for a while, then stopped off at Barley Hall. Interesting exhibitions, including various costumes from TV shows set in Tudor times.
Next, a lovely lunch and back to Lucy’s for supper.
After an excellent lunch, some shopping and a brief visit to the museum, we needed a rest. Sadly we had lost track of the time and the museum tea shop was shut, so we went to Second Cup.
Via M&S for some supplies before returning to Gemma’s for supper.

The views of Birmingham from the library are amazing. And you can see the hills in the distance.
The gardens on the top floor are stunning – full of herbs, which seems fitting for a town rooted in industry.
Slightly bemused, but thrilled to be nominated, I went this evening to receive a Jack Petchey Award for being a thoroughly good egg. Quite a swish certificate! Now to apply for the grant to share with the Guides…
Power cut at 4:30am set off the alarm in the shop. Most people slept through it, but not me, sadly. There was no Wi-Fi for the first part of the morning.
The Guides did low ropes and power fan this morning. This involves climbing up a tall pole then throwing yourself off. A bit like a vertical zip wire. No photos because the light was behind them so it would just be silhouettes.
